Glossary

A/B pool — The cross pool between the two sides. With default terms it starts with 2% of each supply; future launch terms allow 2% to 20%. The app quotes a switch through it against one through ETH. Its price never directly counts for the split or rounds.

Anti-snipe tax — With default launch terms, a tax on buys in the first 10 seconds: 98% at launch, halved at least once a second, then zero from the tenth second. It goes to the pot.

Buyback — At settlement, a winning round can use its pot to buy and burn the winning token. The purchase ceiling is about 10% above the winner's reference price: a 30-minute exponential average of its ETH pool's log price, or the price itself when that is lower. A buyback therefore never moves the price up by more than about 10% from where it finds it, and often by less.

Creator — The wallet that launched a duel, or the address it handed the role to. It receives the creator share of ETH trade fees, a third by default, unless the duel is a supporter duel. Direct A/B fees are burned.

Duel — Two opposing tokens launched together, side A and side B, with their three pools.

ETH pool — The pool where a side trades against ETH. With default launch terms it starts with 98% of that side’s supply and no real ETH.

Launch buy — An optional creator purchase in the launch transaction, capped at 5% of that side’s supply. It pays the ETH swap fee but no anti-snipe tax.

Pot — ETH reserved for a duel’s buybacks: the pot share of ETH trade fees (34% by default), what the protocol leaves of its own share, the creator’s share in a supporter duel, the anti-snipe tax and captured realignment profit.

Realignment — A zero-fee triangular trade attempted by the hook after a swap or buyback. Only profitable completed loops are kept, within the available ETH; captured profit goes to the pot. Price agreement is not guaranteed.

Round — A trading window ending every four hours on UTC boundaries. The first lasts four to eight hours. The time-weighted ETH log price ratio decides the winner; quiet rounds and near ties have none.

Side — One of a duel’s two tokens. A side wears the main color of its image; without one, side A is teal and side B lilac.

Split — Side A’s displayed price share, from the ratio P of the two sides’ ETH prices: P / (1 + P). The large number on every duel.

Supporter duel — A duel whose creator gives its fee share to the pot.

Switch — Leaving one side for the other in one transaction: sold for ETH and bought with it, or through the A/B pool when that quotes more net output.

Tick — Uniswap’s unit of price: each tick is a 0.01% step. A round’s average is taken over the gap between the ticks of the two ETH pools.

Virtual liquidity — The effective reserves of a single-sided pool: it starts with tokens and no real ETH but prices trades as if it held a small ETH reserve. Virtual ETH is not withdrawable ETH.
